Jeanine Clarkin is of indigenous Maori and also Irish decent. Ngati Hako, Ngati Ranginui and Raukawa are the iwi (people) of her whanau. Established in 1994 the Jeanine Clarkin label specialises in Funky Urban Street Wear, bringing Maori Art and clothing design to a new generation. She is welcomed in the theatre and dance arena as one of Aotearoa’s leading costume designers and has curated several exhibitions of textile art.
